Capstone Semester
Academic Programs—Baccalaureate Degree Programs

The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PSSHE) is developing baccalaureate degree programs addressing nanofabrication at several of its 14 member universities.  It is throught these "Partner Institutions" partners of the NMT partnership that students obtain acces to four-year degrees with concentratons or minors in nanofabrication manufacturing technology (NMT).

Two approaches are being taken incorporating the capstone semester into the PSSHE curriculum:

  • The first approach is to create concentrations in nanofabrication within existing four-year programs in applied physics, physics, chemistry, biology, and industrial technology by incorporating the Capstone Semester within the first two years of study.
    • The schools following this format are California University of PA, Indiana University of PA, Lock Haven University, Mansfield University, Millersville University, and Shippensburg University
  • The second approach is to create a minor in nanotechnology, also by incorporating the existing Capstone Semester.
    • The school following this format is Clarion University of PA.

Click on the institutions appearing on the map below for more information on their programs incorporating the Capstone Semester
